Violent Incident in Mango, Jamshedpur Leaves Two Dead, Assailants on the Run
Jamshedpur reels under a shocking double homicide as a real estate businessman and a law enforcement officer fall victim to gunfire. Police are actively investigating.
JAMSHEDPUR – The death toll in Mango Jawahar Nagar Road No. 16 firing has now gone up to 2 as the injured Tiger Mobile Jawan Ramdeo Mahato too has succumbed to his injuries during treatment in TMH.
At approximately 11:30 AM on Friday, a grim scene unfolded on Mango Jawahar Nagar Road No. 16 in Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum district.
Mohd Sajjad, a real estate businessman with a notorious criminal background, was fatally shot by five assailants on motorcycles.
During the chaos, two members of Tiger Mobile, a local law enforcement unit, intervened, capturing three of the attackers.
In a tragic turn, one assailant shot Tiger Mobile soldier Ramdev Mahato during the confrontation.
While two culprits fled on foot, the crowd apprehended and severely beat one of them.
Both Mohd Sajjad and Ramdev Mahato were rushed to TMH, where they were pronounced dead.
Sajjad suffered gunshot wounds to his back and chest, while Mahato was hit near his chest.
Their bodies are currently held in TMH mortuary, with post-mortem examinations scheduled for Saturday.
Mahato, a resident of Manoharpur in West Singhbhum district, leaves behind a son.
Three shell casings were recovered from the crime scene.
High-ranking officials, including SSP Kishore Kaushal and City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, arrived at TMH to investigate.
They interrogated family and friends of the deceased about the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported that Sajjad was shot while sitting near Road No. 16.
After being injured, he attempted to flee but was pursued and shot again.
The involvement of the notorious Ganesh Singh gang is suspected, as revealed by Sajjad’s brother, Mohd. Shahnawaz.
He recalled a previous attack on his brother by the gang’s members four months earlier.
Police have arrested one youth and seized three pistols and ammunition from his possession.
