JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur is getting all decked up and ready for the Independence Day Celebrations.
The Health Minister Banna Gupta would hoist the tricolor on Independence Day at Gopal Maidan.
In the spirit of national unity, hotels across Jamshedpur are gearing up to celebrate Independence Day with food festivals and various treats.
The district administration will jointly enhance the site’s aesthetics, making it a fitting venue for the occasion.
Prominent officials, retired soldiers, and independence fighters will have dedicated seating arrangements to witness the Independence Day Parade, according to a top official’s assurance.
Commercial heavy vehicles will be barred from entering the city following orders from the DC, SSP, and DSP.
Participation from various schools, Army, Home Guard, NCC, NSS, Scout, and Guide units will be part of the program, including a colorful march-past.
The local administration will also acknowledge 26 independence fighters during the event, and children from nearby schools and government agencies will put on a vibrant show.
The flag-raising ceremony, according to the schedule, will begin at Gopal Maidan at 9 a.m.
Last night, police officers conducted searches at hotels and lodges, constantly patrolling outside, while all hotel staff members were instructed to report any suspicious individuals to the nearest police station.
Special checking operations are being conducted in the city’s border areas, and strategic locations like markets, bus stops, and hotels are under continuous surveillance.
More than a thousand police officers have been deployed in and around the city at all significant locations, reflecting concerns over recent spikes in criminal activity in the region.
Despite no specific threat being identified by intelligence evaluations, a wide alert has been issued throughout the city, and the district police have stepped up their enforcement in preparation for the festivities.
There will be increased scrutiny on National Highway 33, and special checking operations will begin tomorrow in the surrounding districts of the city.
Police officers will be positioned across the city, especially at vital locations, to ensure enhanced security.
On Tuesday, August 15, from 6 am to 10 pm, heavy trucks will face No-Entry restrictions.
Piyush Sinha, the SDO for Dhalbhum, has assessed the logistics and readiness at the central event site, confirming that the district’s primary Independence Day event will occur at 9:05 am.
