U Mandal, harassed by her partner and in-laws, attempts suicide at Mango Bridge, saved by onlookers.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a disturbing incident, U Mandal, a resident of Dimna township in Jamshedpur, attempted suicide, allegedly due to persistent harassment from her in-laws.
Reportedly, U Mandal went to the Mango bridge to end her life but was saved by bystanders who happened to be present at the scene at the time.
These individuals acted promptly and notified the local police about the situation.
On receiving the information, police officers rushed to the scene and managed to calm U Mandal down before bringing her to the police station for further investigation.
According to her, she had been in a live-in relationship with Sandeep Machua, a resident of Dimna Basti, for the past four years.
Despite her live-in status, Usha was continually harassed by Sandeep and her in-laws.
When Sandeep initially refused to marry her, Usha filed a case against him at the Ulidih police station two months prior to this incident.
Following the case registration, Sandeep married Usha at the Sakchi Sheetla temple.
However, Usha alleges that Sandeep’s behavior hasn’t changed post-marriage, and the ongoing torment had driven her to the brink of suicide.
