District Congress in Jamshedpur protests the closure of a gate at Kadma ECC Flats complex, citing increased traffic congestion and risk of accidents. Calls for reopening.
JAMSHEDPUR – District Congress members met with the district’s Deputy Commissioner to protest the closure of Gate Number Two at the Kadma ECC apartment complex in Jamshedpur, demanding its reopening.
They argued that the closure is obstructing worship at the local temple and increasing traffic congestion, particularly in front of the nearby school.
The apartment complex, initially designed with two entrances, now operates with only one. According to the protesters, the complex was built around a temple that predated it, and it originally served as housing for Tata company employees.
They claim the remaining open gate, located in front of a school, causes congestion due to the concurrent movement of flat residents and school students.
On Monday, residents of the Kadma ECC Flats joined the Congress-led protest outside the DC office.
The protest was led by Dharmendra Sonkar, the Working (Urban) President of the East Singhbhum District Congress.
Sonkar emphasized the increased likelihood of accidents and crises due to the closure of one gate.
He noted the significant congestion during work and school hours, presenting a serious safety risk, particularly for children.
Sonkar called on the authorities to remove the barricade erected by JUSCO in the area of the Shani Mandir.
Demonstrators at the protest included Congress leader Bablu Jha, other Congress members, and residents of the flat complex.
