The villagers say that the latest such attempt involves the Kandra-based Amalgam Steel Company.

The company is facing severe backlash from villagers for building a two-wheeler parking lot on government land.

According to villagers, the land being used for the parking lot is a common way used daily by residents from dozens of villages.

In the past, villagers requested the company’s management to repair the deteriorating road, but their request was dismissed on the grounds of a directive from the Deputy Commissioner.

Now, the construction of a parking lot on this crucial road has sparked anger among the villagers.

The head of Karangiri Gudha village, Narendra Mahato, has strongly opposed the company’s action.

Mahato accused Amalgam Steel of encroaching on the government road for personal gain, causing transportation difficulties for thousands of residents across several villages.

In response to the illegal occupation, villagers have started protesting against the parking lot construction and have threatened to escalate their actions if necessary.
