Adityapur’s industrial sector faces serious issues including poor maintenance, transportation woes, and high power costs.
JAMSHEDPUR – Local entrepreneurs have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the Adityapur industrial area.
Due to poor maintenance over the past three years, the industrial area is now in bad shape, especially during the rainy season when the roads become hazardous.
Issues Raised at the Chamber Bhawan Meeting
During a meeting at the Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur, businessmen shared their challenges with Jharkhand’s Industry Secretary, Jitendra Singh.
They highlighted the lack of street lights making the area dark in the evenings, the absence of transportation facilities for workers from rural regions, and poorly maintained roads from Phase 1 to Phase 7.
Lack of Infrastructure and Ownership Rights
Entrepreneurs also lamented the lack of basic infrastructure in recently allocated lands such as Dugni, Ruam, and Bhalodih.
Despite paying a monthly maintenance fee, the areas lack necessary facilities such as street lights and a proper drainage system. The businessmen also argued for ownership rights for industries that have been in the area for over 30 years, a privilege granted in other states.
Proposed Solutions and Support
At the meeting, the need for an airport was emphasized, and the industry secretary assured support from the Industries Department.
He also confirmed that entrepreneurs not receiving subsidies despite having necessary documentation could approach the Joint Director level.
In response to concerns about unequal power pricing and reliability of electricity, JBVNL General Manager Shravan Kumar noted a 20% increase in energy usage due to improved power quality.
