In his statement dated June 29, 2023, Roy addressed the spread of false rumors about his arrest warrant in some WhatsApp groups.

Upon contacting the in-charge of the Bistupur police station in Jamshedpur, he confirmed that no summons or arrest warrant has been received.

Roy recalled that Health Minister Banna Gupta had filed a defamation case against him over his statements about irregularities in Covid incentive distribution.

He clarified that in such cases, the defendant is usually summoned under a bailable section before the trial begins.

Neither he nor the Bistupur police station has received any such summons to date.

The last hearing for the case took place on May 18, 2022, and the next one is scheduled for July 21, 2023.

On that day, he will appear before the court and, if necessary, apply for bail, he said in the statement.

He emphasized his eagerness to present the facts in court and appreciated the opportunity to do so.
