Jamshedpur Third-Gender Community Protests Over Assault Incident at Barmamines Police Station

Enraged eunuchs stage a protest demanding justice for assaulted peer at Barmaines police station in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tension sparked in Burmamines police station area as eunuchs rallied, protesting against an assault on their fellow, Boni Kinnar, a resident of Sidhu Kanhu Basti.

Today, they claimed, Sidhu Kanhu Basti resident Idu and his accomplice forcefully entered Boni Kinnar’s house and demanded money.

According to the eunuchs, they also attempted to sexually assault her and beat her with sticks when she resisted, leading to injuries.

The enraged eunuchs took Boni Kinnar to Barmaines police station and staged a protest, demanding action against the culprits.

Pinky Kinnar stated that despite regular harassment from the locals, they continue to reside in the township and bear the torment.

She reported that the police initially did not take their complaint seriously, but an FIR was filed after much insistence.

She affirmed that the protest would continue until the perpetrators were arrested.

Given the severity of the situation, Barmaines police initiated a search for the two accused individuals.

Despite refusing to comment further, the police managed to pacify the irate eunuchs by promising swift action.
