Tribals Rally for Rights in Seraikela

Tribals Rally in Seraikela for Assertion of Rights; Thousands Participate in Protest at Gangudih Football Ground.

SERAIKELA – In Seraikela, an Adivasi Jan Akrosh Sabha was organized by the Sanyukt Adivasi Samajik Sangathan, Chandil sub-division, a joint tribal social organization, at the Gangudih football ground.

Hundreds of tribal men and women, led by leaders from Gamharia Majhi Pargana Mahal Baropeeth, marched from Kandra Mod to participate in the rally.

According to Ramdas Tudu, people from other communities, who have no connection with tribal language and culture, are also joining the tribal ranks.

This dilution of tribal representation is leading to tribals not reaping the benefits of reservation, which is why they are protesting today.

The rally was led by Pargana Nandlal Tudu, Paranik Ramdas Tudu, and Sonaram Mardi.
