‘MAHI’ Campaign Bolsters Mental Health Awareness Among Bahragora B.Ed College Students

A mental health initiative by Namya Smile Foundation and World Health Partner enlightens hundreds at Bahragora B.Ed College about mental wellness.

JAMSHEDPUR – In Jamshedpur, mental health issues are increasingly recognized as a significant challenge facing young people today, with anxiety, stress, and depression rates rapidly on the rise.

To address this growing concern, social organizations Namya Smile Foundation and World Health Partner have partnered to launch ‘MAHI’ (Mental Awesomeness and Health Initiative). The second phase of this campaign was initiated at Bahragora B.Ed College on Friday.

In this initiative, more than 250 students were educated about mental health by a psychiatrist from World Health Partner.

The organization is also involved in several governmental programs, including Tuberculosis eradication.

Member of Namya Smile Foundation, Rishu Ranjan, shared that the campaign’s goal is to raise awareness of escalating mental health problems among young people and devise strategies for reducing this menace.

He added that the campaign aims to educate youth in all major educational institutions about mental health issues and prevention measures.

Dr. Shraddha Suman, another member of Namya Smile Foundation, stressed the importance of mental health, saying that a healthy mind is as critical as a healthy body.

She pointed out the escalating mental health issues linked to the excessive use of social media and the comparative behaviour exhibited by today’s youth.

She also emphasized the need for parents, teachers, administrators, policy makers, and law enforcement to recognize and address mental health’s significance.

Principal Balkrishna Behera of B.Ed College, Bahragora, appreciated the initiative, calling it “extremely beneficial for the youth.”
