Authorities implement special security measures for President Draupadi Murmu’s visit to Deoghar Mandir and Ranchi, including the establishment of a temporary Red Zone.

Ranchi – In preparation for the visit of President Draupadi Murmu to the Deoghar Baba Baidyanath Mandir and the state capital Ranchi, several special arrangements have been put in place.

President Murmu is set to offer prayers at Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar on May 24, followed by a series of engagements in Ranchi until May 26.

Deputy Commissioner of Deoghar, Manjunath Bhajantri, explained that the district administration has made comprehensive arrangements within the temple and surrounding areas for the President’s visit.

To ensure optimal security, entry of devotees into the temple premises will be restricted from 6 am to 10:30 am during the President’s visit.

Following her worship at Baba Baidyanath Temple, the premises will be reopened for the devotees as per normal schedule.

Ranchi is also bolstering its security measures ahead of the President’s arrival.

A temporary Red Zone within a two-kilometer radius of the Raj Bhavan, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), and the new High Court building has been declared by Ranchi’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), in line with the Drone Rules 2021.

The decision to establish the Red Zone stems from concerns over extremist and terrorist activities, and will be enforced by four designated Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.

President Murmu’s itinerary in Ranchi includes the inauguration of the new High Court building, attending a program for tribal women in Khunti, and a convocation ceremony at IIIT Namkum. To ensure the smooth execution of these programs and President Murmu’s safety, key responsibilities have been assigned to selected IAS officers.

These arrangements have been put in place to ensure a secure and successful visit for President Draupadi Murmu, and underscores the importance of her visit to these areas.
