Encroachments cleared near Jubilee Park and in Bistupur, Kadma, Sonari, Baridih, Sitaramdera and Bhalubasa, Rs. 15500 collected as fine from 9 individuals

Jamshedpur: JNAC officials continued with their anti-encroachment drive on Monday and cleared several encroachments made by roadside vendors on the main road near Jubilee Park in Sakchi as well as by house owners in different areas of the city.

Acting on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, a team of officials including the Executive Magistrate Sumit Prakash, Special Officer of JNAC Chandradeep Kumar, Mrs. Santoshini Murmu and City Manager Ravi Bharti, led a drive against roadside vendors near Jubilee Park.

Several vendors were found to have extended their tents and were creating problems with their wares kept on the road causing inconvenience to the passersby.

Despite instructions to move away from roads, many vendors have continued to set up stalls and tables on the roadside, causing traffic jams and inconvenience to passers-by.

In response to this, the team removed the tarpaulin structures and seized tables, chairs, and stools used for selling food items.

Additionally, many hand carts were found using domestic gas cylinders, and all such goods were confiscated.

The team also imposed fines on nine other people who had encroached roads with building materials in Bistupur, Kadma, Sonari, Baridih, Birsanagar, Sitaramdera, and Bhalubasa areas, collecting a total of Rs 15500 in fines.

The drive against roadside encroachment will continue, with the confiscation of building materials on the roadside set to begin tomorrow.
