Pickup van turns turtles on NH 33 at Chandil killing 3 laborers

2 seriously injured, being treated at MGM Hospital

Seraikela: Three laborers died and two others were seriously injured in a road accident when the pickup van they were traveling in overturned on NH-33 under the Chandil police station area in Seraikela-Kharsawan district Monday night.

The dead were identified as Bablu Soren, Sagun Tudu and Shibu Ram Mardi.

Those who are injured include Bilom Hansda and Sukhram Tudu and are being treated at MGM Hospital.

The disaster mishap happened when the victims—all young adults between the ages of 22 and 26—were traveling back to their homes from a Jamshedpur construction site.

The injured were sent to MGM Medical College Hospital, where they are stated to be in a critical condition.

The injured were Bilom Hansda and Sukhram Tuddu, while the deceased were Bablu Soren, Sagun Tuddu, and Sukhram Tudu.

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle rolled over while taking a bend close to Jariadih, and the authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

The NH-33 between Pardih and Chandil is prone to road mishaps and several accidents have occurred on this stretch in the past few months.

Due to the absence of checkpoints and the exponential growth in the number of vehicles, particularly four-wheelers, during the past ten years, reckless driving is also on the rise.
