New Turn in Allegations Against Congress’ Anand Bihari Dubey

JMM Candidate Samir Mohanty Claims Misuse of Letterhead in Embezzlement Accusation

A new development has emerged in the case of the allegations made by JMM candidate Samir Mohanty against Congress’ Jamshedpur district president Anand Bihari Dubey, accusing him of embezzling Rs 25 lakh.

JAMSHEDPUR – JMM candidate Samir Mohanty has stated that his letterhead, seal, and signature were used fraudulently in a letter accusing Congress’ Anand Bihari Dubey of embezzling Rs 25 lakh.

Mohanty has retracted his statement, asserting that he did not write the letter and that it is fake.

In an interview with a news channel, Mohanty suggested that the letter might be part of Congress’ internal politics, but he reiterated that he has no connection to it.

The controversial letter claimed that Rs 25 lakh was given to Congress district president Anand Bihari Dubey and Rs 6,000 was allocated for each polling booth.

With 1,885 polling booths in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, the alleged expenditure would amount to Rs 1.13 crore, far exceeding the Election Commission’s guidelines.

Questions arose about the discrepancy in spending, prompting Mohanty to change his statement, denying any involvement with the letter.

Despite the controversy, Mohanty has not filed a police complaint regarding the alleged fake letter.

Meanwhile, Congress district president Anand Bihari Dubey has been summoned to the Ranchi Congress headquarters for an explanation.

At a press conference, Samir Mohanty demanded an investigation into the matter and called for action against those responsible for the fraudulent letter.

It is noteworthy that the letter in question bears Mohanty’s letterhead and seal, detailing the supposed allocation of Rs 25 lakh to Dubey and discrepancies in payments per booth, which led to political turmoil.
