Jamshedpur: In a major swoop Friday, an Excise Department department team raided several sites in Patamda and Bodam. The teams seized big haul of illicit liquor and also arrested two persons.
The raids were made on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner Excise.
The team of Excise Department raided Hathiadih of Bodam police station area and Relief Chowk under Patamda police station area on Friday.
The Excise Department team recovered a huge quantity of illicit liquor from there.
Illicit and countrymade liquor were seized in big quantities.
The Excise Department arrested two persons, one B Rajak from Patamda and another B Hansdafrom Hathiyadih in Bodam.
On the other hand, the Excise Department team also raided several sites in Sonari, Sitaramdera and Kadma areas on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner Excise on Friday.
Raids were conducted at Chandi Nagar in Sitaramdera, Jhabari Basti in Sonari and Ramjanma Nagar in Kadma.
About 12 liters of foreign liquor was seized from these areas.
Search is on to nab three persons who managed to evade arrest during the raids.
