Raghubar Das pays homage to former state president of BJP Laxman Gilua

Jamshedpur: Rich tributes were paid to the former BJP President of Jharkhand State and the former MP Laxman Gilua on Thursday by BJP leaders as well as workers, including Raghubar Das, the former Chief Minister of the state and national vice- president of BJP.

On Thursday, party leaders paid homage to late Laxman Gilua at a tribute meeting organised at his residence in Chakradharpur.

During this, other leaders including Jamshedpur BJP city president Gunjan Yadav also paid tribute to him.

The former CM Raghuvar Das met the family members of late Laxman Gilua and expressed his condolences.

He said that Lakshman Gilua’s entire life was devoted to the upliftment of the poor, especially the tribal society.

He said that whenever the BJP government comes to power again in the state, Chakradharpur will be made a separate district to fulfil one his dreams.

Former District President Chandrashekhar Mishra, Rambabu Tiwari, West Singhbhum BJP District President Vipin Purti, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Rakesh Singh, Bhupendra Singh and other BJP workers and supporters were present on the occasion.

Gilua represented Chakradharpur twice, while he was also elected for Lok Sabha twice. He became an MLA for the first time after winning Assembly election from Chakradharpur seat in 1995, while he won the parliamentary election for the first time in 1999 after defeating Congress strongman Vijay Singh Soy.

Late Laxman Gilua succumbed to Covid-19 at the age of 57 years on April 29, 2021.
