Jamshedpur: Angry residents of a bustee near Marine Drive Ghora Chowk under the jurisdiction of Kadma police station once again blocked the Marine Drive Road Friday morning. They were demanding better treatment and compensation to the family of the child injured in road accident yesterday. The child was hit by a Scorpio and is serious injured and being treated in TMH.
The bustee residents kept the road blocked for around 2 hours. A long queue of vehicles was seen on both sides due to the blockade.
The DSP Kamal Kishor and station in-charge Manoj Kumar Thakur reached the site and somehow persuaded the locals to lift the blockade.
The locals alleged that the officer in charge had assured that the injured child’s treatment would be ensured. And on his assurance they had lifted the blockade on Thursday.
However, they alleged, the officer-in-charge of Kadma police station stopped picking up calls from the injured child’s family members.
They said that the child’s parents are poor and they had called the officer in charge for better treatment.
They also said that they do not want the child to be treated in TMH any more and would prefer to take him to CMC Vellore for better treatment.
The locals also demanded that the driver of the Scorpio involved in the accident be brought to the site.
The police officers, however, assured them that adequate compensation would be paid to the family. On their assurance, the locals lifted the blockade once again.
The 10-year-old minor child was badly injured after being hit by a Scorpio near Marine Drive under Kadma police station.
As soon as the information about the accident reached the nearby bustee, a large crowd of locals gathered at the site. The injured child was rushed to TMH by the locals and is in a serious condition.
