Jamshedpur: Two miscreants fired at one Ajay Verma, the owner of Ajay Jewellers, Ulidih on Thursday. Ajay Verma was injured in the incident and is under treatment in TMH. City SP himself has arrived at TMH and the case is under investigation.
According to information received, two miscreants reportedly opened fire on Ajay Verma, owner of Ajay Jewellers at Sankosai Road No. 5 under the jurisdiction of Ulidih police station.
The person injured received the gunshot injury in shoulder. He was rushed MGMCH and was later referred to TMH for treatment.
The victim, Ajay Verma allegedly had earlier complained to the police about harassment by two persons for extortion. He has also named those two persons in his complaint. However, the police reportedly did not proceed in the matter on the grounds that the CCTV footage was not available for the extortion.
On Thursday, Ajay Verma was near his house in Ulidih when at around 8 p.m. two miscreants arrived on a bike near his house and fired at him. The bullet hit him near shoulder of the injured. Injured Ajay Verma was rushed to MGMCH. Later, he was referred to Tata Main Hospital.
Soon after receiving information about the firing, the City SP Subhash Chandra Jat reached TMH.
The matter is under investigation. No arrests have been made so far.
