JMM ready to contest 35 seats in WB Assembly polls: Supriyo Bhattacharya

JMM flays BJP for violence in Bengal, blames it for Republic Day violence too

Jamshedpur: The oncoming Assembly elections in West Bengal is likely to have a hefty participation from political leaders and parties of Jharkhand too. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, minister Champai Soren, MLA Samir Mahanty and former minister Dulal Bhuiyan along with several other JMM leaders launched their election campaign in West Bengal formally.

The general secretary of JMM Supriyo Bhattacharjee said in Jamshedpur on Friday that the blame for violence in West Bengal just before the elections must go to BJP directly.

Mr. Bhattacharjee said that Mamata Banerjee should not fear BJP at all, as JMM’s arrow and bow would finish off BJP in the state, just like it happened in Jharkhand.

He said that the way JMM defeated BJP in the Assembly elections in Jharkhand, it would also rout it in West Bengal.

He said that JMM would register its electoral presence from Kanchanjunga to Gopiballabhpur constituencies.

Mr. Bhattacharjee said that the West Bengal Chief Minister cannot counter BJP alone and JMM’s political help would come handy.

He flayed BJP and said that it is nothing but ‘Becho Janata ka property’ party.

He said that that the party has been misleading the people and has been divesting off public assets.

He said that despite seven decades of rule of Congress, left and Trinamool Congress, the tribal population and the original inhabitants of Bengal are still an exploited lot.

He said that JMM too would play an important role in the Assembly elections. He said that the time has come when the dream of Greater Jharkhand should be realised.

He said that the party would field its candidates in the border areas of West Bengal including Kanchanjunga and till Gopiballabhpur.

He said that at some seats the party would contest directly, while on other seats it would contest in co-ordination with friendly parties.

He said that his party would contest at least 35 seats directly. He said that the party supporters are waiting for the announcement from the Chief Minister Hemant Soren about the decision fo the party to contest different assembly seats.

He said that JMM would thwart BJP’s ambition of riding to power in West Bengal.

He also appealed to all like-minded parties in West Bengal to lend support to JMM.

Mr. Bhattacharya also blamed BJP for the violence on January 26 in Delhi and said that the party has been trying to defame the farmers and is trying to weaken the federal structure of the country.
