BJM pays floral tributes to Birsa Munda, holds public meeting at Birsanagar

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur East MLA and founder of Bhartiya Jan Morcha Saryu Roy garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on this birth anniversary on Sunday at Sonari Birsa Bustee.

The supporters of Bhartiya Jan Morcha also lighted diyas on the occasion and distributed laddoos among the bustee residents.

Saryu Roy also congratulated the people of Jharkhand on the state’s Foundation Day.

Later, in an address he said that we must remember our great heroes, so that we may continue being inspired by the great work they did and the great ideals they held.

On the other hand, Bhartiya Jan Morcha also organised a public meeting at Sunday Market, Birsanagar on the occasion of Foundation Day of Jharkhand.

The programme was presided over by the convenor of Birsanagar unit of the party M Chandrashekhar Rao. Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy was also a part of the meeting.

Before the meeting, Saryu Roy garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Later, in his address, Saryu Roy said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda had started ulgulan against the oppression of landlords backed by the British and he fought the British hard.

He said that the former late Prime Minster Atal Bihari Vajpayee had fulfilled the demand of a separate Jharkhand state.

He said that Birsa Munda is born whenever oppression goes beyond a point.

Those who addressed the meeting included district convenor of the party Ramnarayan Sharma, Sanjiv Acharya and Subodh Srivastava.
