Chadragupta Singh urges DC to intervene on Surya Mandir Chhath confusion issue

Jamshedpur: The patron of new committee of Surya Mandir, Chandragupta Singh, today submitted a memorandum to the DC and asked him to ensure that no confusion is created by anyone over Chhath Puja.

The memorandum says that although the state government has not issued any guidelines over Chhath Puja celebrations, yet some people have started distributing coupons and are claiming that 4,000 diyas would be lighted on the occasion.

Chandragupta Singh said that some people are misleading the masses in the name of Chhath Puja.

He clearly said that the government has not issued any guideline for Chhath puja celebration. Yet, some people are talking about coupons and lighting diyas on Chhath puja. This is premature and completely wrong.

He urged the DC to take cognisance of the matter.

He said that Surya Mandir is cleaned every year for Chhath Puja. On November 4, the MLA of Jamshedpur East, Saryu Rai, had reached Surya Mandir and had issued instructions to get the mandir cleaned before Chhath Puja.

Later, it was learnt that some people announced that 4000 diyas too would be lighted on Chhath puja.

He said that it is surprising that a former chief minister has issued such statements when the state government has not issued any guideline yet.

He said that such statements are creating confusion.

He said that now the former CM is neither in government, nor is he an MLA, yet he is trying to create confusion.

He said that the district administration should take cognisance of the matter and not allow anyone to create confusion.
