Chaibasa Hosts Workshop on District Level Motor Accident Claim Tribunal

Legal Experts Discuss Timely Compensation for Accident Victims

A one-day workshop on the District Level Motor Accident Claim Tribunal was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, West Singhbhum Chaibasa, in the auditorium of the Forest Training School, focusing on simplifying provisions to provide timely and appropriate compensation to the families of accident victims.

CHAIBASA – LADC officials, Bar Association President Shri Rameshwar Prasad, advocates, police officers, PLVs, employees, and other stakeholders were present at the workshop, which aimed to increase knowledge and contribute better to society.

The workshop was formally inaugurated by all the guests, including Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary and SP Ashutosh Shekhar, by lighting the lamp. The stage was conducted by authority member Vikas Dodrajka, while the guests were welcomed and thanked by the Secretary of the Authority, Rajiv Kumar Singh.

Arvind Kumar Lal, senior advocate of the Jharkhand High Court and the main speaker at the workshop, provided detailed information on the subtle points related to motor accident claims, highlighting obstacles in providing timely and appropriate compensation to the families of accident victims. He also mentioned the amendments made in the Motor Accidents Act in 2022 and the rules and policies related to it.

Commissioner Hari Kesari, DIG Manoj Ratan Chauth, and Secretary of the District Bar Association Augustin Kullu also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of following the law and reducing issues related to motor vehicle accidents.

Special guest Principal District and Sessions Judge Co-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Vishwanath Shukla stressed the importance of following the law and the penalties for driving without a license.

Jharkhand High Court judge Justice Deepak Roshan, who was present as the chief guest, said that understanding various aspects related to motor vehicles is crucial, and the workshop provides an opportunity for stakeholders to increase their knowledge and contribute better to society.
