Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur-based Growth Shop manufactures advanced crane technology, significantly aiding in the assembly of Chandrayaan-3’s LVM3-M4 rocket.
JAMSHEDPUR – With a recent development, Tata Steel has made a notable contribution to the successful launch of India’s third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3.
This achievement has been enabled through the provision of state-of-the-art crane technology, which was instrumental in the assembly of the mission’s ‘Fat Boy’, the LVM3-M4 rocket.
According to an official news release from Tata Steel, this advanced crane was produced in the Tata Growth Shop based in Jamshedpur.
The company is being recognized for this significant contribution, with the crane playing a pivotal role in the flawless assembly of the launch vehicle for the historic lunar mission.
This contribution underlines Tata Steel’s commitment to fostering India’s technological development and progression.
Notably, this crane is an Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) type, and it was installed at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre – Sriharikota ISRO.
The Indian Space Research Organisation launched Chandrayaan-3, the nation’s third lunar mission, on July 14, using the heavy-lift LVM3-M4 rocket.
With the launch of Chandrayaan-3, scientists aim to perfect soft landings on the lunar surface, a challenging technological feat expected to take place in late August.
India aims to join an exclusive club through this mission, set to become the fourth nation after the United States, China, and the erstwhile Soviet Union to achieve this remarkable accomplishment.
