Central Minister Ambarish Calls For Unity Beyond Caste Lines

JAMSHEDPUR – The Vishwa Hindu Parishad marked its 62nd foundation day at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur on Thursday, with the programme opening with a lamp-lighting ceremony and Vedic chanting.
Those present at the inauguration included VHP central minister and special contact head Ambarish, Jharkhand state president Chandrakant Raipat, a representative of the Bharat Sevashram Sangh, department minister Arun Singh, district president Ajay Gupta, department organisation minister Ganesh Vidyarthi and state Matrishakti Bal Sanskar Kendra head Savita Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Ambarish spoke about the organisation’s founding in 1964, describing it as a response to the challenges facing Hindu society at the time, undertaken at the call of religious leaders to strengthen Hindu traditions.
He said Hindu communities across the world were increasingly visible today and called for unity among Hindus divided along caste lines. Ambarish said fostering social harmony among Hindus divided by caste was a duty for the organisation.
He also raised concern over what he described as a declining birth rate among Hindus, attributing it to a growing trend of delayed marriage and smaller families. He said addressing the trend would require a shift in mindset within the community.
Referring to Hindus living in Pakistan, Ambarish said their continued presence there stemmed from the strength drawn from religious texts carried by their ancestors during Partition, rather than property. He urged Hindu society to place greater importance on religious texts and encourage younger generations to study them.
Other attendees at the event included state organisation minister Chitranjan, Bajrang Dal state co-convener Janardan Pandey, Cow Protection and Promotion Council head Sujit Sahu, religious leader contact head Avatar Singh Gandhi, Bajrang Dal convener Munna Dubey, district minister Chandrika Bhagat, joint ministers Uttam Kumar Das and Bhola Lohar, service head Jitendra Pramanik, Durgavahini convener Manu, and Matrishakti representative M. Bhavani.
Officials from all blocks with organisational responsibilities were also present, along with hundreds of men and women who attended the foundation day programme.
The gathering in Jamshedpur adds to a series of community and religious events held in the city this year, including the recent Janmashtami celebrations at Sidgora Surya Dham and the accompanying cultural programmes held over the same period.
