Body Recovered From Up Line in Manoharpur Police Station Area

MANOHARPUR – An unidentified youth died on Tuesday morning after being struck by a train near Ghaghra, within the Manoharpur police station area. The stretch falls along the Chakradharpur-Rourkela main rail line.
Police recovered the youth’s body from the up rail line following the incident. Officers have so far been unable to establish his identity.
Investigators have also not yet determined which train struck the youth. Railway and police authorities continue efforts to piece together details of the incident.
Manoharpur police took custody of the body soon after receiving information about the case. Officers have since been engaged in further investigation to identify the victim and the circumstances of his death.
Rail-related incidents have been reported elsewhere in the region in recent months. Earlier this year, a NIT Jamshedpur student’s body was recovered from Domuhani after a search operation, while a separate case saw a body found near the Chandil area, with police still working on identification. Unidentified-victim cases have also surfaced on the roads, including one where a biker killed in Pardih remains unidentified weeks later.
