Villagers Welcome Action After Sanjib Sardar’s Intervention

POTKA – The district administration swung into action on Thursday to repair the damaged Kowali-Dumaria main road after Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar took note of its deteriorating condition.
Repair work on the damaged stretches of the under-construction road began following the MLA’s directive. Meanwhile, villagers in the area expressed happiness over the development and thanked Sardar for his intervention.
However, the road had been badly damaged by heavy rainfall in the district. The repair work started from Sushnigadiya village under Kendua panchayat in Dumaria block, carried out by the district administration.
According to officials, Sardar had directed the concerned department on Wednesday to take immediate action and repair various roads in the area after learning of their poor condition. The department began repair work without delay following the instruction.
In addition, several important road construction projects in the Potka assembly constituency have already received approval through Sardar’s efforts. Construction on some of these, however, has yet to begin because landowners at certain locations have not received compensation for their land.
Villagers said construction on the affected stretches would proceed only after compensation is disbursed. Besides the compensation issue, residents said a gram sabha would soon be convened to discuss the matter with the village head and concerned landowners.
Moreover, the meeting is expected to move forward the process of securing compensation for the affected landowners, clearing the way for construction of the approved road projects backed by Sardar.
“The MLA has been continuously active on roads and basic infrastructure in the area, and this repair work is a direct example of that,” villagers said. They expressed hope that construction of the remaining approved roads would gain pace once the compensation matters are resolved.
