Police Register Case Against 11 After Violent Assault

JAMSHEDPUR – Three members of a family suffered serious injuries after a violent dispute erupted over repairing a collapsed firewood shed in Bettiah’s Yogapatti area.
The incident occurred in Lalgarh village under Yogapatti police station limits. Moreover, the clash reportedly started during repair work.
Fajrul Haq Mian stated that strong winds struck the village on April 29. Meanwhile, his firewood storage shed collapsed during the storm.
He said he started repairing the structure on May 1 morning. However, several relatives allegedly reached the spot and began abusing him.
The accused included Mustaqeem Mian alias Kallu Mian and Majluddin Mian. Moreover, Shamshuddin Mian and Taj Mohammad Mian were also named.
Rubeda Khatoon and Irshad Mian were included in the complaint. Meanwhile, Karamulla Mian and Sabeela Khatoon were also accused.
Afrina Khatoon, Rubina Khatoon and Zarina Khatoon were also named. However, the dispute soon turned violent, police said.
According to the complaint, the accused attacked using sticks and iron rods. Moreover, a sharp weapon was allegedly used during the assault.
Fajrul Haq Mian alleged that Mustaqeem Mian struck his head repeatedly. Meanwhile, he collapsed after sustaining severe injuries.
His daughter Halima Khatoon rushed to intervene during the attack. However, she was allegedly assaulted with an iron rod.
She suffered injuries to her head and hands, relatives said. Moreover, Maira Khatoon also sustained injuries during the violence.
The complainant further alleged misconduct against women during the clash. Meanwhile, an attempt to snatch a gold locket was also reported.
Villagers later shifted the injured to Yogapatti Community Health Center. However, doctors referred them to GMCH Bettiah afterward.
“All injured persons required advanced medical treatment,” a hospital source said. Moreover, police recorded statements during treatment.
Police registered Yogapatti case number 150/26 after the complaint. Meanwhile, investigators have started examining witness accounts.
Trainee SP and station in-charge Kartikeya A. K. confirmed the case. However, no arrest information was immediately released.
