JAMSHEDPUR – A 19-year-old boy was found murdered in Gadhabasa, sparking unrest in the locality.

Ajay Basa, also known as Dantu, had gone out late Monday night with his friend Sandeep. However, only a few hours later, Ajay’s body was discovered soaked in blood in the Gadhabasa area. Local people rushed him to Tata Main Hospital. Yet, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, residents alleged that Sandeep was engaged in occult practices. They claimed Ajay’s killing was carried out under the pretext of witchcraft. In anger, locals created a scene at the murder spot.

Soon after, police led by station in-charge Sanjay Suman reached the area with additional force. They controlled the situation and arrested Sandeep for interrogation. Officials said the exact cause of death will be clear after the postmortem report.

Ajay was the only son in his family. His father had died recently, leaving the family in grief even before this tragedy. His mother and sister were seen in deep despair after the incident.

Due to the tense atmosphere in Gadhabasa, police deployed more personnel to prevent further unrest. Authorities assured strict action against those responsible. “The culprits will not be spared,” a police official stated.
