JAMSHEDPUR – A sophisticated cyber scam targeting a postal service customer has resulted in significant financial loss.

The victim resides in Ashok Tower, Mango. He lost money from two bank accounts.

Meanwhile, the fraud occurred on November 16. The scammer posed as postal staff.

Furthermore, the victim expected a book delivery. He searched for tracking information online.

Moreover, the fraudster requested WhatsApp communication. A pin code verification was demanded.

The scammer asked for a tiny verification fee. It led to massive unauthorized withdrawals.

Additionally, Canara Bank lost Rs 40,000. Bank of Baroda reported Rs 22,000 missing.

“Online scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated,” noted a cybersecurity expert.

Moreover, Bistupur Post Office became an unwitting part. Fraudsters misused their identity.

On the other hand, postal tracking scams increase yearly. They target unsuspecting customers.
