Jamshedpur Election Preparations Intensify with Security Measures

Enhanced Security and Order for Upcoming Lok Sabha Nominations in Jamshedpur

As the Lok Sabha elections approach, Jamshedpur is ramping up its preparations, focusing on maintaining law and order during the nomination phase with a series of strategic meetings and inspections.

JAMSHEDPUR – In anticipation of the forthcoming nomination process for the Lok Sabha elections, a critical meeting was convened to discuss the maintenance of law and order.

The session, presided over by Ananya Mittal, the District Election Officer and District Magistrate of Jamshedpur, was attended by key administrative and police officials.

Strengthening Election Infrastructure

During the meeting, officials were briefed on various operational details including necessary barricading, magistrate deployment, parking strategies, and the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct at key locations such as the Collectorate complex and the Returning Officer’s office.

Later, Ananya Mittal, together with the Senior Superintendent of Police, conducted an inspection of the EVM warehouse at Kitadih Panchayat in the Jamshedpur Sadar block.

They reviewed the security arrangements, inspecting the closed rooms where the EVMs were stored, CCTV systems, fire-fighting equipment, the double lock system, deployed security forces, and the maintenance of log books.

Preparation at LBSM College

Their next stop was LBSM College in Karandih, which has been identified as a dispatch point for polling parties heading to Baharagora, Ghatshila, and Potka VC areas.

Here, Mittal directed officials to ensure that the premises were adequately prepared for the smooth dispatch of polling parties.

Instructions were given to finalize the construction of a secure strong room and to ensure that basic facilities such as barricading, parking, drinking water, toilets, and electricity were adequately provided.

These measures are part of comprehensive efforts by the district administration to ensure that the electoral process is conducted smoothly and securely, reflecting a commitment to uphold democratic values through meticulous planning and execution.
