Mobile Passport Van Launched in Jamshedpur

New mobile van service to expedite passport processing

Jamshedpur sees the introduction of a mobile passport van service aimed at easing the application process and reducing wait times.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur sees the introduction of a mobile passport van service aimed at easing the application process and reducing wait times.

Starting Monday, the Passport Seva Kendra in Jamshedpur has deployed a mobile van to handle passport applications more swiftly.

The van, positioned at the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra in Bistupur, functions as a mini passport office.

It is equipped with all necessary facilities to assist applicants in completing their passport processes conveniently.

Initially, the service saw a modest turnout with only six applicants, attributed to low initial awareness.

The Regional Passport Office in Ranchi expects that as more people learn of this service, the numbers will increase to potentially 40 daily applicants.

The introduction of the mobile van has expanded the local Passport Seva Kendra’s capacity from processing 100 to 140 passports per day.

This enhancement is a significant step towards improving the efficiency of passport services in the area, aiming to alleviate the backlog of applications.
