A young man was killed after an allegedly speeding truck hit him near Poweru More on the Tata–Hata main road.
The deceased was identified as Suman Mandal of Urugutu. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene.
Following the accident, locals and the victim’s family blocked the road, demanding compensation and strict action against the driver.
Police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
