Second Phase Vehicles to Strengthen Rapid Policing

RAMGARH – The Ramgarh police received 20 new patrol vehicles on Tuesday under the state government’s police modernisation drive, as part of the second phase of the initiative.
The vehicles were flagged off at the superintendent of police office complex by the deputy commissioner, the superintendent of police and the deputy development commissioner of Ramgarh.
In the first phase, the district had earlier received 13 patrol vehicles and 19 two-wheelers under the same modernisation programme.
According to police, the addition of new vehicles will strengthen regular patrolling across police station areas, along with anti-crime checking, surveillance of sensitive locations and overall crime control. Officials said the response to Dial-112 complaints would also improve as a result.
The new vehicles are expected to enhance police reach and visibility across the district. They will also help ensure quicker police assistance to the public during emergency situations, officials said.
Ramgarh police said the new vehicles would play a significant role in making the district’s policing system more effective and modern.
Police modernisation efforts have picked up pace across the state in recent months. In Bokaro, officials had earlier announced plans for a major infrastructure upgrade at the railway station, part of a broader push to modernise public facilities.
Meanwhile, Ramgarh has also seen a mix of law enforcement activity this month. Police recently reported an encounter with criminals in Giddi, leaving two injured, while a road accident in the district had earlier led to two youths killed in a bike-minibus crash, prompting protesters to block the highway.
Besides these incidents, the district has also faced industrial safety concerns recently, with three engineers killed in a blast at a factory in Ramgarh earlier this month.
