JAMSHEDPUR – The third day of Samvaad 2025 witnessed a major partnership agreement between Tata Steel Foundation and The Indian Hotels Company Limited on November 17, 2025.

Tribal changemakers gathered to discuss collaboration and leadership. The morning sessions covered Art and Handicrafts. Participants explored traditional diagnostic approaches in Tribal Healing Practices.

Akhra sessions examined indigenous social governance systems. Moreover, Samuday ke Saath presented stories for aspiring film-makers.

Tata Steel Foundation and IHCL signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding. Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Steel Foundation, signed the agreement. Sireesha Chandana, VP at IHCL, represented the hotel company.

The renewed partnership aims to promote India’s tribal cuisines. The collaboration started in 2017. It has engaged 440 tribal home cooks since then.

These cooks represent 52 tribes across 21 regions. The expanded partnership will focus on three areas. Capacity Building and Skill Development forms the first pillar.

Mainstreaming Tribal Cuisine constitutes the second focus area. Culinary Storytelling and Documentation completes the triad. The initiative preserves India’s tribal food traditions.

It also supports sustainable livelihood opportunities. The partnership co-creates authentic gastronomic experiences. However, these efforts remain rooted in tribal communities.

Roy emphasized the importance of tribal wisdom. “Progress comes from learning from communities,” he said. The day’s conversations covered healing traditions and art.

They also addressed governance and food systems. Collaboration opens new pathways for shared growth. The IHCL partnership represents another step forward.

Tribal cooks will bring skills to wider audiences. This strengthens livelihoods and dignity. Home cooks carry this heritage within communities.

Cultural performances highlighted the day’s events. The Ho, Garo, Kuki and Kandhan tribes performed. Summersalt band from Khasi Hills played vibrant music.

In addition, Garima Ekka delivered a soulful performance. Arjun Lakra also entertained the crowds. Visitors enjoyed the musical energy.

Aatithya, the tribal food pop-up, attracted large crowds. It offers indigenous preparations and forgotten flavours. The Art & Handicrafts outlet drew appreciation.

Traditional Healing outlets at Gopal Maidan proved popular. The food pop-up operates daily from 3:00 pm. It remains open until 9:00 pm.

Cuisines are available for order on Zomato. Samvaad 2025 will continue for two more days. Thousands will celebrate cultural identity and collective wisdom.

The gathering honors India’s indigenous communities. Meanwhile, the enduring spirit of tribal heritage remains central.
