District Election Officer Reports Peaceful Polling Across All Booths

JAMSHEDPUR – The Ghatshila assembly by-election witnessed an impressive 73.88% voter turnout with peaceful polling across all booths as reported by District Election Officer.

Voters participated enthusiastically in the democratic process on Wednesday. District Election Officer Karn Satyarthi announced the turnout figure. He stated that 73.88% polling was recorded by 5 PM. However, the final percentage might increase slightly.

Strong Voter Presence Throughout Day

Long queues were observed at polling stations from morning. Women and youth voters showed remarkable enthusiasm. They actively participated in this festival of democracy. Moreover, their presence dominated the voting centers throughout the day.

Security forces were deployed extensively at all locations. They ensured peaceful and fair voting. The administration maintained strict vigilance. Besides, polling officials performed their duties efficiently.

Legal Actions and Seizures

Two FIRs were registered during the entire electoral process. The authorities seized Rs 3.30 crore in total. These actions were taken to ensure fair elections. On the other hand, the administration remained alert throughout.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to multiple stakeholders. Police personnel received appreciation for their work. Administrative officials were also thanked for smooth conduct. In addition, political parties cooperated in maintaining peace.

EVM Sealing and Storage

Electronic Voting Machines were sealed after polling concluded. The sealing process was completed in the evening. Subsequently, all EVMs were sent to strong rooms. The fate of candidates is now sealed in these machines.

Vote counting will take place on November 14. The results will determine the winner. Meanwhile, security has been tightened around strong rooms.

Campaign and Preparation Phase

Campaigning had ended before the polling day. Postal ballot voting was conducted earlier for eligible voters. The by-election was announced following proper procedures.

Training sessions were organized for polling staff beforehand. EVM teams received comprehensive preparation. Border areas witnessed increased police presence. All arrangements were made to conduct free and fair elections.

The high voter turnout reflects strong democratic participation. Citizens fulfilled their constitutional duty with dedication. The peaceful atmosphere throughout polling day deserves commendation.
