  • Investors duped through daily task and share investment scheme
  • Azad Nagar police begin probe into multi-level online scam

JAMSHEDPUR – A major online fraud has surfaced near Jishu Bhawan on Old Purulia Road under Azad Nagar police station, where a website named ‘Global Travels’ allegedly duped hundreds of people of crores of rupees through fake investment schemes.

According to police, the site lured users to invest amounts ranging from Rs 1,800 to several lakhs.
In return, it promised daily percentage-based returns and bonuses for completing small online tasks.

Users were assigned 20 to 25 tasks daily, including giving 5-star ratings to hotels or travel agencies, sharing links, or posting promotional content on social media.
Initially, the company released small payouts, increasing investors’ confidence and leading to larger deposits.

However, the website suddenly stopped its withdrawal and redeem system.
When investors attempted to recover their funds, the site was found completely inactive.
Angry investors gathered near the company’s alleged office in Azad Nagar, creating chaos and vandalizing property.

Soon after, Azad Nagar police arrived and brought the situation under control.
Preliminary investigation indicates that it is a multi-level online scam.
Authorities have begun examining the website’s server and associated bank accounts.

Police officers confirmed that the fraud appears extensive. “The matter is serious, and efforts are underway to trace the culprits through technical analysis,” said an investigating source.
The total amount involved is estimated to be in crores.
