Police Seize Country-Made Pistol, Live Ammunition During Night Patrol

JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested two suspects during an anti-crime operation in Jugsalai area late at night and seized a country-made pistol along with live ammunition.

The operation was conducted on October 10 night. It took place near the crematorium gate in Parvati Ghat locality. Senior officers had directed the checking drive.

Police teams were inspecting vehicles and people. The checking was intensive and thorough. Around 10:10 pm, two youths appeared suspicious on a motorcycle.

Security forces signaled them to stop. However, both attempted to flee with the bike. Police swiftly cornered and caught them.

A search was conducted on both suspects. One youth identified as Mohammad Rehan was carrying a bag. Officers recovered a country-made pistol from it. Moreover, a magazine was found inside. An Android phone of Poco company was also seized.

The second youth turned out to be a minor. A live bullet was found in his trouser pocket. Additionally, a Samsung Android phone was recovered from him.

All seized items were confiscated following proper procedures. Mohammad Rehan was placed under arrest. On the other hand, the minor was handed over as per legal provisions.

Authorities are investigating the purpose of carrying weapons. The supply chain of the firearm is also being traced. Police are examining links to possible criminal activities.
