JAMSHEDPUR – Married women across Jamshedpur observed the auspicious festival of Karva Chauth with great enthusiasm and devotion on Friday. The main celebration took place at a private school auditorium in Sakchi, where hundreds of women gathered to participate in the rituals.

The event began with women listening to the traditional Karva Chauth Katha, followed by prayers for the long life and well-being of their husbands. Many participants said they eagerly wait for this festival all year long.

Meanwhile, women performed the rituals with complete devotion, adorning themselves with full solah shringar (sixteen traditional ornaments) and observing a day-long fast without water.

As night fell, the fasting women ended their nirjala vrat (waterless fast) after sighting the moon and then viewing their husbands’ faces, marking the conclusion of the day’s observance.

“Karva Chauth strengthens the bond between husband and wife,” said one participant, expressing her joy at celebrating the festival in such a large gathering.
