East Singhbhum Congress Chief Selection Reaches Final Stage

Rajeev Mishra Emerges as Strong Contender for District Congress President

Key Points:

  • Rajeev Mishra’s name reaches central leadership for district chief post
  • Agenda includes winning one MP and two MLA seats for Congress
  • Focus on electricity, water, unemployment, education, inflation, corruption

JAMSHEDPUR – The Congress party’s process to choose the East Singhbhum district president has entered its final round, with Rajeev Mishra’s name reaching central leadership.

Mishra, the district media chairman and spokesperson, is being considered for the top post. His agenda includes securing one Member of Parliament and two legislators from the district.

He also plans to upgrade the historic Tilak Pustakalaya into a stronger hub for party workers and the public. Moreover, he emphasizes direct street-level struggles on public issues instead of limiting to statements.

Mishra stresses protection of workers’ dignity and rights as his highest priority. Central leaders have taken note of his active protests and media interventions on key public concerns.

Meanwhile, he has consistently raised issues in Jamshedpur. These include power shortages, irregular electricity supply, and severe drinking water scarcity where residents depend on tanker operators.

Unemployment has forced youth into migration despite industrial presence. Additionally, falling education standards and lack of higher institutions have worsened student migration. Rising inflation and corruption in welfare schemes remain other major concerns.

Mishra believes only ground struggles with workers can revive Congress in East Singhbhum. “This position is not about personal ambition but about amplifying workers’ respect and people’s voice,” he stated.

He added that his dream is to restore the Congress in Jamshedpur and East Singhbhum as a powerful force where every public struggle begins.
