GPS-Enabled Pulsar Motorcycles to Curb Traffic Jams and Street Crimes

JAMSHEDPUR – The city police has introduced 70 new high-speed motorcycles to modernize patrolling and strengthen crime control in congested areas.
The Bajaj Pulsar bikes have already arrived at Golmuri police lines. They are being fitted with GPS devices, reflective strips, and special horns. Moreover, all bike patrol teams will remain under constant watch of the control room and receive real-time instructions.
Officials confirmed that the old four-wheel vehicles at police stations will soon be replaced. A proposal has been sent to headquarters to sanction three vehicles for bigger stations and two for smaller ones.
According to police, the new motorcycles will allow forces to reach crime or traffic jam sites within 5 to 10 minutes. This is expected to prevent incidents of snatching, robbery, and other street crimes.
During festive seasons, traffic congestion often hampers police response. However, the bikes will now enable faster access to narrow lanes and hotspots where criminals and addicts usually gather.
