RTI Workers’ Union Warns of Dharna in Delhi if Demands Ignored

Central Committee Plans National Seminar in Jamshedpur on October 12

JAMSHEDPUR – The central committee of the RTI Workers’ Union has decided that if no action is taken against those accused of threatening activists, it will protest before Parliament and move court if necessary.

The decision was taken during a review meeting at Nirmal Guest House on Sunday. The meeting also decided to launch a membership drive in September to strengthen the organization.

Earlier, the committee reviewed the protest held on August 25 at Kute Maidan near the Assembly, where several demands were raised. Members expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of response.

Another major decision was to organize a national seminar in Jamshedpur on October 12 to mark RTI Day. A preparation committee was formed with central president Dil Bahadur as chairman, vice president Sadan Kumar Thakur, and general secretary Kritivas Mandal along with other members.

A reception committee was also constituted, including central vice president Purabi Ghosh, Sulochana Devi, Momita Mukhi, treasurer Rishendu Kesari, Sunil Kumar Prasad, Raju Besra, Sunil Kumar Murmu, Bijay Singh Munda, Ranjit Singh, Pulak Mandal, and Chandrashekhar Rajak.

Dil Bahadur, presiding over the meeting, thanked activists for their support in making the August protest successful. The session was conducted by general secretary Kritivas Mandal, while Bijay Singh Munda delivered the vote of thanks.
