B Srinivas Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award in Photojournalism

World Photography Day Event Celebrates Photojournalists in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – A grand felicitation program marked World Photography Day at Karim City College, organized jointly by Press Club of Jamshedpur and the college’s Mass Communication Department.

Veteran press photographer B Srinivas was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding and risky work in the field. Alongside, nine senior photographers including Rangadhar Nanda, Sardar Pratap Singh, Arvind Sharma, Madan Sahu, Neeloy Sen Gupta, Manoj Singh, Santosh Kalindi and Abhijit Abhiraj were honored with Long Service Awards.

During the event, senior editors Sanjay Mishra (Prabhat Khabar), Bhawanand Jha (Dainik Bhaskar), Udit Agrawal (Uditvani), Braj Bhushan Singh (Chamakta Aaina), and Jayprakash Ji (Ispat Mail) praised the tireless efforts of photojournalists. College Principal Md. Riaz, Mass Communication Head Dr. Neha Tiwari, and Press Club President Sanjeev Bhardwaj also attended.

Meanwhile, a photography competition in four categories was judged by senior journalist-filmmaker Sabodh Mishra and IFS officer Dr. Abhishek Kumar. Winners were:

In addition, all photographers and cameramen present were felicitated with mementos.

A short film titled “Press Photographer,” written by Anand Bala Sharma, produced by S Ajay, and directed by Tarkeshwar Rao, was also premiered. The film, featuring local artists, portrayed the challenging life of photojournalists and was highly appreciated. The filmmakers were honored by the Press Club during the event.
