JAMSHEDPUR – Rising dengue and monsoon disease cases in Govindpur have prompted District Council member Dr Paritosh to launch a comprehensive cleanliness campaign.
The initiative began through joint efforts with Panchayat Samiti member Satvir Singh Bagga. JCB machines and tractors are being deployed for operations. Moreover, the campaign addresses growing health concerns.
Dr Paritosh is funding the entire operation personally. The three-day campaign targets multiple locations across Govindpur. Furthermore, community development grounds will receive priority attention.
Areas near Bengal Sweets face immediate cleaning interventions. Hat Bazaar and Market Road require extensive waste removal. Besides, Tintalla and Janata Flats are included.
LIG housing complex and Vivek Vidyalaya vicinity need attention. These locations have accumulated significant waste materials recently. However, systematic cleaning will address all concerns.
Door-to-door waste collection operates in housing colonies currently. Single and double room residents receive regular services. On the other hand, public cooperation remains insufficient.
“People throw garbage openly despite collection services,” Dr Paritosh explained. Monthly fees of 80 rupees remain unpaid frequently. Moreover, this creates additional sanitation challenges.
Only 400 households pay fees among 1000 residences. This low compliance threatens service continuity significantly. Furthermore, financial sustainability becomes problematic without payments.
The doctor warned services might discontinue without improvement. Public participation in fee payment remains essential. Besides, community responsibility ensures long-term success.
Satvir Singh Bagga appealed for enhanced public cooperation. Citizens must support cleanliness initiatives actively throughout campaigns. However, sustained efforts require community commitment.
