SERAIKELA – Adityapur police solved the murder case of Giridih youth Rajesh Mahatha within 24 hours after discovering his decomposed body in a rental house.

The victim’s body was found in Satbohni Jamalpur area recently. Police arrested his wife Pooja Kumari on murder charges. However, she was subsequently sent to judicial custody.

Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat disclosed case details on Monday. He revealed the wife’s shocking confession during interrogation. Moreover, she admitted to killing her husband over relationship issues.

Pooja Kumari told police about her husband’s extramarital affair. She alleged he maintained illicit relationship with another girl. Furthermore, he would talk for hours on mobile phone.

The couple fought on the night of July 15. However, anger escalated into violence during the confrontation. Meanwhile, Pooja struck her sleeping husband’s head with hammer.

She fled with children immediately after the murder. On the other hand, neighbors discovered the decomposed body later. Moreover, police investigation began following the gruesome discovery.

Investigators recovered the blood-stained iron hammer used in crime. However, forensic evidence supported the wife’s confession completely. Furthermore, the weapon provided crucial proof of guilt.

The victim Rajesh Kumar Mahatha belonged to Giridih district. Meanwhile, the family lived in rental accommodation temporarily. However, marital discord led to this tragic outcome.

Police conducted swift investigation to crack the case quickly. On the other hand, technical evidence corroborated witness statements. Moreover, the confession provided complete details of motive.

The murder occurred during late night hours of July 15. However, discovery happened two days later due to decomposition. Meanwhile, foul smell alerted neighbors to investigate further.

Adityapur police station handled the investigation under SP Lunayat’s supervision. However, quick resolution demonstrated efficient police work. Furthermore, the arrest prevented potential escape attempts.

The case highlights domestic violence escalation into murder. Meanwhile, extramarital relationships often create family tensions. However, violence never provides solution to marital problems.
