JAMSHEDPUR – BJP leader Ankit Anand led tribal farmers to the District Collector’s office demanding compensation for agricultural land contaminated by fly ash in Hurlun Panchayat.
The farmers from Birsanagar area gathered at the DC office today. They demanded action against land mafia responsible for dumping fly ash. The contamination has affected their agricultural activities significantly.
However, the protesters issued an ultimatum to authorities. They threatened to start farming inside the DC office premises. This warning came after their demands remained unaddressed.
Meanwhile, Ankit Anand highlighted the severity of the situation. He stated that media coverage has brought the issue to public attention. The BJP leader emphasized that all tribal farmers’ land has become barren.
Moreover, the fly ash contamination has made rice cultivation impossible. Farmers can no longer grow paddy in their traditional fields. The soil quality has deteriorated beyond agricultural use.
