Man Dies in Electrocution at Barigora Janta Road

Hemnandan Rajak Killed After Touching Electric Pole in Parsudih

Key Points:

  • Electricity department ignored repeated warnings about faulty pole current
  • Village head demands compensation and action against negligent officials
  • Previous incident involved goat’s death from electric wire contact

JAMSHEDPUR – A resident of Barigora Janta Road died on Tuesday after getting electrocuted by an electric pole in Parsudih police station area.

Hemnandan Rajak suffered fatal electric shock from the faulty pole. Village head Sunita Nag and local residents rushed to the accident site. However, immediate medical attention could not save the victim’s life.

Local residents quickly transported Hemnandan to Tata Motors Hospital for treatment. Medical staff declared him dead upon arrival at the facility. Moreover, the incident has sparked anger against electricity department negligence.

Odisha State JMM General Secretary Dubraj Nag visited the accident location. He joined local leaders in demanding accountability from electricity authorities. Besides, political leaders emphasized the need for immediate safety measures.

Village head Sunita Nag accused the electricity department of serious negligence. Officials received multiple complaints about current leakage in the pole. On the other hand, department authorities failed to take corrective action promptly.

She revealed that a goat had died previously from electric wire contact. The earlier incident should have prompted immediate safety inspections and repairs. Furthermore, repeated warnings went unheeded by responsible electricity officials.

Nag announced plans to meet the electricity department’s General Manager soon. She will demand adequate compensation for the deceased’s family members. However, accountability measures for negligent officials remain equally important.

The village head emphasized that departmental carelessness caused this preventable tragedy. Proper maintenance could have avoided the fatal electrocution incident entirely. Moreover, safety protocols must be strengthened to prevent future accidents.

Local residents express growing frustration with electricity department’s response to safety concerns. The community demands immediate inspection of all poles in the area. Besides, regular maintenance schedules should prevent such tragic incidents.

The incident highlights urgent need for electrical safety audits across Jamshedpur. Public safety requires proactive measures rather than reactive responses to accidents. However, justice for Hemnandan’s family depends on swift administrative action.
