JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on a tip-off, the Parsudih police arrested Abid Khan, a resident of Keetadih Gadiwan Patti, on Monday night. The operation uncovered 262.7 grams of brown sugar worth ₹30 lakh along with ₹4,000 in cash. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal disclosed the details during a press conference held at the Police Office.
The arrest occurred near the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Parsudih after police observed suspicious activity. Upon spotting the officers, Khan attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. Initially, he provided false identification in an attempt to mislead the police.
A History of Criminal Activities
Abid Khan, who has previously served jail time for murder and arms-related offenses, has 12 criminal cases registered against him. These include five cases of narcotics trafficking, with the majority filed at the Parsudih police station. Additionally, cases are lodged at Sundernagar and Jugsalai, including three related to murder and arms violations.
SSP Kishore Kaushal commented, “The arrest of such a high-profile offender marks significant progress in our crackdown on narcotics.”

The raid was led by DSP Taqueer Alam and included Parsudih Officer-in-Charge Mohammed Faiz Ahmed, along with Sub-Inspectors Arun Kumar and Ritesh Kumar. The successful operation demonstrates the commitment of Jamshedpur police to curbing drug-related activities in the region.
