Awareness Program on MSME Competitive Lean Scheme Held in Jamshedpur

Entrepreneurs Encouraged to Adopt Lean Manufacturing for Global Competitiveness

JAMSHEDPUR – The MSME Development Office, Ranchi, under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, organized a one-day awareness program on January 22, 2025, at IDTR Conference Hall in Jamshedpur. The event focused on the “MSME Competitive Lean Scheme,” part of the MSME Champions Scheme. SIDBI CIP and IDTR, Jamshedpur, collaborated in the organization.

Objectives of the Program

The initiative aimed to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with lean manufacturing tools, enhance competitiveness, and promote awareness of financial assistance and processes available under the scheme. Lean tools help MSMEs achieve technological upgrades, cost efficiency, and improved productivity.

Key Sessions and Presentations

The program, coordinated by Gaurav, Assistant Director (Grade-I), MSME-DFO, Ranchi, featured technical sessions led by experts. Roshan Kujur, Deputy Director, National Productivity Council, Bhubaneswar, provided an in-depth presentation on the impact of the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme, its tools, and the application process. Subhashmita Sahu, Assistant Manager, KIIT-TBI, Bhubaneswar, elaborated on her institution’s role in implementing the scheme.

Other speakers included Anjan Kundu, HOD, Marketing and Admin, IDTR, Jamshedpur, who detailed IDTR’s activities, and KPMG representatives Saurabh Mitra and Reshma Raj, who discussed SIDBI’s cluster intervention initiatives.

Support and Guidance for Entrepreneurs

Gaurav shared a presentation from the MSME Ministry, New Delhi, explaining other government schemes like MSME Innovative, Udyam Registration, PMEGP, and GIFT. He encouraged participants to adopt lean practices and assured them of continuous support for their entrepreneurial ventures.

Participation and Outcomes

The program attracted over 70 participants, including entrepreneurs and MSME stakeholders. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Gaurav, who urged participants to embrace the scheme for sustainable growth and competitiveness.
