JAMSHEDPUR – Seven electricity divisions across Kolhan region will implement scheduled power cuts starting next week for system upgrades.

The comprehensive maintenance initiative will affect Jamshedpur, Mango, and nearby areas. Moreover, the work includes replacement of worn-out wires and outdated equipment.

“This timing is ideal with current power demand being relatively low,” explained Anand Kaushik, Electrical Executive Engineer. Meanwhile, officials have begun surveying feeders across divisions.

Mango Division Progress

Two sections in Mango have already started maintenance work. Furthermore, surveys have identified critical areas needing immediate attention.

“We are focusing on preventing summer overload issues,” a department official stated. Additionally, SDOs and Junior Engineers are closely supervising all upgrade activities.

Consumer Impact

The electricity department will release daily schedules for outages. However, disruptions will not exceed the allocated maintenance hours.

Residents have shown mixed reactions to the announcement. Meanwhile, some appreciate the preventive approach for summer preparedness.

Infrastructure Upgrades

All sub-divisions have initiated equipment surveys. Moreover, the plan addresses weak infrastructure points across the network.
