34 Lakh Students Denied Benefits as Govt Prioritizes Cash Transfer Program

Key Points:

  • Soren announces Rs 2,500 transfer to 56 lakh Maiya Samman beneficiaries
  • BJP claims scholarships for Dalit, tribal students pending for 9 months
  • Marandi accuses govt of halting development schemes for welfare program

RANCHI – BJP state president Babulal Marandi has accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of depriving students of scholarships to fund the Mukhya Mantri Maiya Samman Yojana.

The controversy erupted after Soren announced the successful transfer of enhanced benefits under the Maiya Samman scheme. The program now provides Rs 2,500 to beneficiaries.

Education Impact

Marandi highlighted serious concerns about student welfare. “The education of 34 lakh Dalit, tribal and OBC students is at risk,” he stated.

Moreover, the BJP leader claimed green ration card holders haven’t received grains for seven months. This has allegedly pushed poor families toward starvation.

Development Concerns

The opposition leader criticized the government’s financial management. He alleged that development funds were diverted to support the welfare scheme.

Furthermore, Marandi accused the administration of sacrificing other welfare programs. He emphasized that focusing on one section shouldn’t compromise others’ rights.
